On Sunday a group of volunteeers helped plant 12 cherry trees in Alice Park. Cllr Rob Appleyard and Cllr Joanna Wright used their Ward Empowerment Fund to put in an avenue of cherries along side the path to the pond and tennis courts. The variety is called Kanzan and will have a double flower of bright pink in spring. Rob and Joanna would like to thank the Alice Park Community Garden and in particular Carol Stone for their support and help in planting these trees. We now look forward to spring.
